SERENADE SOCIETY

A Legacy of Dance

The aspirations of New York City Ballet’s gifted and hard working artists have always been fueled by a singular mix of the imagination, generosity, and pride of dance enthusiasts from New York and around the world.  The Serenade Society, named after the very first ballet George Balanchine created in America (1934), was formed to pay tribute to a special group of farsighted supporters who have remembered New York City Ballet in their wills or with other gift plans.  When you join the Serenade Society, you reach past your own lifetime to ensure that New York City Ballet’s tradition of artistic excellence will always be preserved for future generations to enjoy.

Members of the Serenade Society receive:

  • An invitation to the exclusive annual Serenade Society Luncheon
  • A membership certificate, suitable for framing
  • Complimentary invitations to seminars and special receptions with dancers and representatives from the artistic and administrative staff
  • A special New York City Ballet lyre pin, designed exclusively for Serenade Society members
  • Recognition in New York City Ballet publications, including Playbill, the Annual Report, and our newsletter, New York City Ballet News – Special Donor Edition

New York City Ballet offers a wide range of gift plans that can be tailored to fit your philanthropic and financial goals.  You can choose your own legacy of dance:

Since its inception in 1948, the Company has strived to preserve the extraordinary legacy set forth by George Balanchine and Lincoln Kirstein – a legacy further driven by the brilliant artistry of Jerome Robbins.  By choosing how you will leave your own legacy of dance with New York City Ballet, you entwine your legacy with theirs and your generous spirit will live on through the art and beauty that is New York City Ballet.
