In a city known for its artistic energy, membership in the New Combinations Fund provides an opportunity to be a partner in the creative process. 

Since 1992, the Fund has been a vital source of funding for over 100 new ballets.  The generous and risk-taking members of the Fund have enabled the Company to commission four to six new ballets every year, sometimes more, and to seek out and develop the best talent available – not just in choreography, but in costume and scenic design and music composition as well.  While Mr. Balanchine’s choreography accounts for half the ballets performed by New York City Ballet today, he had a vision for a company that would produce and perform works made in and for their time.  Thanks to members of the Fund, the creative vision that made New York City Ballet so exciting in his day remains a core part of the Company today. 

We invite you to share your passion for the new and innovative as a member of the New Combinations Fund.  Your gift, beginning at $15,000, will help support the commission of new ballets and the nurture of new talent.  You will deepen your involvement with New York City Ballet during studio visits to view new works in process, and by meeting dancers and choreographers, and attending intimate dinners and events related to premieres or other special programming. 

The benefits of belonging to the New Combinations Fund include all Choreographer’s Circle benefits, plus:

• New Combinations Fund priority for subscription and house seat orders
• Invitation to observe a rehearsal of a work in process in a studio setting
• Informal showing of work created as part of the New York Choreographic Institute
• Invitations to intimate events related to premieres or other special programming
• Listing of your name with other New Combinations Fund members in Playbill and other New York City Ballet publications
• With a gift of $25,000 or more you may choose to designate your gift for a specific new production or program of interest and New York City Ballet will acknowledge your support with a special credit in Playbill or other relevant materials
