What:
A Rare Opportunity! A thrilling and unique chance for young dancers, ages 14 years and older, to take a customized private class taught by a current member of the Company. And to see a New York City Ballet performance on the same day.
Where:
Classes held at NYCB studios, Samuel B. & David Rose Building 170 W. 60th St. (corner of W. 65th St. & Amsterdam Ave.). Changing rooms available.
Performance is at the New York State Theater (across the Lincoln Center Plaza).
When:
Tuesday - Saturday when NYCB is in season (December - February and May - June) at the New York State Theater. These private classes are reserved and subject to availability. Mornings only.
Time:
Arrival and warm-up from 9:30 am – 10 am. Class begins at 10 am and concludes at 11 am.
Cost:
$30 per participating student in addition to the cost of performance tickets (Groups of 15 or more receive up to a 50% discount on repertory performance tickets January - February and May - June.) (There are no discounts during George Balanchine's The NutcrackerTM ). Group members not participating may observe class at no additional cost.
Details:
Students must have prior ballet experience. Students must be at least 14 years of age to participate. Class minimum of 10 students, maximum of 25 students.
Note:
If time permits, you may wish to add Meet the Dancer to your day's activities for a 45-minute pre-perfermance talk with a NYCB dancer and a visit backstage where you will discover for yourself a dancer's-eye view from the stage. The cost of Meet the Dancer is $5 per person in addition to the cost of performance and Ballet Experience. Unfortunately, Meet the Dancer is not available during performances of George Balanchine's The NutcrackerTM.
